Christmas in the Fort

Some pictures from Christmas 2008 in Fort Smith:

After Christmas lunch:

Opening presents:

I got Spanky this 1979 Arkansas Razorbacks' whiskey decanter off e-bay - I was pretty proud of myself:

A few pics from our house in DC before we left for Arkansas - poor Waylon - always tortured with the camera and even worse - the reindeer antlers:

Uncle Greg Gets Married!!

My uncle Greg had been dating Cheri for at least 15 years so this wedding was a huge event for and we so happy that it finally happened!! Here's some pictures from the big event in Melbourne in November 2008. It was so wonderful to witness the wedding and visit with family - we are so happy for Greg and Cheri!

We never thought that we'd see a ring on this finger:

All the cousins (minus Casey and Emily who are in Madagascar in the Peace Corps) at the kids table:

There was a contest with another table to see who could stack the wine glasses the highest (don't worry they were plastic) and I'm happy to say that I won - I got some mean glass-stacking skills:

The Means Invade DC

So, also in September, Spanky's parents visited DC for the first time since we have lived here in DC. His very kind, generous and patient aunt and uncle drove with them from Fort Smith to DC for the visit - it took a week and I think that they visited every Civil War Battlefied between the two places. While there are tons of pictures from the trip, they are all in Fort Smith and in hard copy so I'll try to re-live some of the trip for you...

On Friday, we all boarded into a rented Minivan (see below) and drove from DC to Getttysburg, PA to see the battlefield. We toured the museum, bought the CD reenacting the entire battle and drove very slowly through the park listening to the CD and reliving the battle - it was a really, really big battlefield...

On Saturday, we went to Arlington Cemetary and then toured the monuments and White House by Tourmobile (see our ride below). On Sunday, we visited the Museum of Natural Science and the Air and Space Museum.

Waylon Turns One!

Waylon turned one on July 15, 2008 - just a few shots from around his birthday:

He's got such a rough life:

Always the helpful one making sure that the lawn mower is kept in check:

Skydiving!

Ok, so perhaps the real reason that I wanted to start a blog is so that I could finally post the skydiving video. I know how much my parents just love watching me jump out of a plane so I had to post it so they could see it anytime they want. I have more pictures on my webshots page, but my tech skills are not allowing me to download them onto this blog: http://community.webshots.com/user/emosto14
