42 in Dog Years

Waylon is six years old today!  He is a wonderful and patient older brother and is really enjoying all the extra treats from a toddler.

So focused on the treats that he doesn't notice the Cheerio on his ear:

5 Years and 5 Months

On Sunday, Waylon turned 5 and today, Caroline is 5 months old.  Waylon celebrated with a few trips to Trusty's, multiple walks, egg sandwich breakfast and a trip with us to Yards Park.  Caroline has really started to notice Waylon and likes to watch him (and has started reaching for him).  Waylon gives the ocassional lick on the hand or face, but otherwise, ignores her.  Here's a few of the dynamic duo:

And here are a few of Caroline from today along with a few notables from the last month:

- Second plane trip (went to Florida to meet her Great Grandma, aunts and cousins)
- First trip to the beach
- First dip in a pool and the ocean (not a fan of the water)
- First tooth (lower left one)
- First birthday party
- Wearing some 3-6 months, but still mostly 0-3 months

Furry Baby

With all the posts on the pregnancy and baby, thought that we need a few of the furry kid - plus, I just downloaded about 2 years of pictures from my phone and wanted to share.

Not sure he has enough sticks:

Waylon is Three!

Waylon turned three on July 15th and in dog years, he's finally the legal drinking age! We thought about throwing a kegger for him, but decided to celebrate at his favorite bar, Trusty's. Belle passed away before her third birthday so this birthday was especially special to celebrate. These pictures were taken at Trusty's a few days after his birthday (photo credits to Matt Wallis).

sNOw MORE

Dear Mother Nature - we have had enough snow to last a lifetime and now you are sending us 10 - 20 more inches of snow! This Texas girl has had enough! If we could dig out our cars, we'd be driving to Pennsylvania to make stew out of that groundhog that predicted 6 more weeks of winter. Here's some images from the weekend blizzard that left us with 21 inches of snow:

Here are some pictures from the December snow that dumped 17 inches...we thought that one was bad...

Snow Day!

It snowed almost 5 inches in DC on March 2nd and Waylon enjoyed every minute - his mother, on the other hand, was not too thrilled about the cold stuff in March.

As soon as we open the door, Waylon goes flying off the front porch to run in circles in the snow. I wasn't quick enough to get much, but I caught a little of his glee on the video

Waylon Turns One!

Waylon turned one on July 15, 2008 - just a few shots from around his birthday:

He's got such a rough life:

2007 In Review

So, my New Year's Resolution was to start a blog to hopefully encourage me to take more pictures with our new camera. I thought I'd review some highlights from the past two years before starting the new posts just to include some memories. So, here's a few highlights from 2007:

In October, we addded a new family member, Waylon. Here's a few pictures of a his first few weeks at home. Don't worry, he'll make many more appearances on the Blog since he's much cuter than Spanky or I:

In July, we bought a house on Capitol Hill in Washington DC. Here's some pictures of the house:

In January, we lost our beloved puppy, Belle, to leukemia. She was such a sweetie and so young. We know that she is now doing all her favorite things - herding doggies, eating, running, destuffing toys, chewing on rawhides and just enjoying life pain-free. We miss her and created her own blog with lots of pictures: http://misssouthernbelle.blogspot.com/
