Month in Review

So, no real theme here, just some pictures from the past month.  Caroline had her 15 month check-up and weighed 19 lbs 3 oz so still chugging along in the 10 percentile for weight.  All she wants to do is walk and walk and walk and go up stairs and and down stairs and walk and walk and walk...

Can you tell that she likes the pantry?

Waylon gets a ton of affection - he's usually pretty tolerant, but there is only so much affection one dog can take - she loves, loves, loves him:

We took a trip to Portland over Memorial Day.  It was pretty cold and rainy for most of the trip, but we had a great time.  Caroline actually loved the extremely cold rain and wind on the beach.  For you Goonies movie lovers, Haystack rock in the back is featured in the movie (I think that it was Spanky's favorite part of the trip):

Enjoying the warm weather!

Let's Go Nats!!

It's baseball season and Caroline has already attended her first game.  She actually did pretty well and stayed in the seats with us for most of the game.  I don't think that we'll be that lucky at every game.

Sporting the Nats Cap - excited about the season:

On the Move

A few days after the 14 month mark, Caroline decided it was time to take off on her own. She was playing with Spanky's wallet, grabbed all the cash and took off walking. She held onto that money tight - foreshadow of days to come - she's an early learner. Below is a video of some of her first steps that evening:

Now she is off and running and we already need her to slow down a bit...

Happy Easter

So excited to get her new Easter basket. Nana sent a pretty big one so the Easter Bunny has to be very generous at our house.

Caroline got lots of good stuff from the Easter bunny, Nana and her Great-Grandma including lots of books, baby junk food, and bath toys. Here are a few in her Easter dress:

Spring Training

It was Spring Training for both us and the Washington Nationals!  We had a great time with beautiful weather while my visiting extended family and watching the Nationals Spring Training in mid-March.  Caroline turned 13 months while we were on the trip.  She was also working on two new teeth - molars - and her walking skills.

Trip to the Brevard Zoo with all the Family (5 kids and 7 adults in total, but we weren't successful in a group shot):

Cheering on the Nationals - too bad that they lost the game:

The Big ONE!

We had a small party to celebrate Caroline's first birthday.  My parents and sister were also able to come to DC to help us celebrate.  While it was only about 15 adults and 6 kids that's a lot for our little house.  It was quite hectic and a little overwhelming for Caroline, but I think that most people had a good time and we enjoyed celebrating with family and friends.  We missed Grandpa, Meme and Uncle Brad!

Caroline got lots of wonderful gifts from her grandparents, friends, daycare and "aunties" including her first real doll, shoes, cute outfits, zany zoo, helicopter toy, block shape sorter, stacker toy, piggy bank and dollhouse.

At the doctor's appoitment, she weighed in a t 17 lbs, 12 oz and 27.5 in (10% for both so moving up on that growth curve).  Besides her party - the social event of the season - other notables from the past month include:

- Crawling correctly and getting quicker
- Cruising everywhere and pretty fast - cruises along walls, couches, the fireplace, cabinets, appliances, tables...everywhere...
- Started on Cow's milk and transitioned pretty well

Here are some pictures from her birthday party:

Enjoying her cake (I think that she would have eaten the whole cupcake if I hadn't taken it away from her):
