Most Fundraisingest Stache

Thank you to everyone who donated to Mustaches for Kids this year.  Spanky raised over $8,600 to take home the "Most Fundraisingest Stache" and helped the group raise over $55,000 for National Children's Medical Center.

First Pictures

So, here are the first "pictures" of Baby Means.  So far, she's taking after her father with a very large head.  Can't really tell what everything is in these photos, but technician assured us that all the essential parts and organs were present and in the right spots.

It's a girl!

That's right - there's a Spanketta on the way - the due date is Februrary 9th.  So, if you're keeping track, this baby's been to six countries, but I'm done traveling for a bit.  I've been really lucky and skipped the nauseousness of the first trimester.  I've been terrible about taking belly pics. - promise to do better - here's one at 24 weeks:

And a headless attempt at 26 weeks - sorry it's so fuzzy:

Nashville

We went to Nashville for the Arkansas/Vandy game - managed to get in an Avett brothers concert and saw lots of family and friends. I only managed to get one picture of Spanky displaying his game-day outfit and new "binoculars" that conveniently hold 16 ounces of an adult beverage:

Savannah/Charleston

We took a short trip to Savannah and Charleston with Waylon in mid-October (don't worry Arkansas had a bye that weekend so we didn't miss any watch parties).  Had a great time, ate tons of great Southern food, toured a few Civil War sites and historic homes and Spanky got in a few rounds of golf.  I didn't make it in any of the pictures, but I managed a few with Spanky and Waylon:

Kenya

I had a quick trip to Kenya to attend a conference in Nairobi. We did manage to include one day of sight-seeing in Nairobi and visited the Baby Elephant reserve, giraffe sanctuary and the national park in Nairobi:

Giraffe begging for food - we were able to feed the giraffes - awfully rough tongues (and really fat giraffes)

African Razorbacks - aka warthogs

One of the lions in pack - the others were busy eating part of a zebra

Trip to Boston and Cape Cod

We finally made it to Boston for a quick visit in early August (only been wanting to go since we moved to DC over 7 years ago) - included the Freedom Trail, Sam Adams Brewery, boat tour of Boston harbor, Red Sox game, and lots of eating. Our friend, Bevin, who sadly left DC for Little Rock, joined us for the trip. We also included a stop in Cape Cod and crashed at a vacation rental Bekah and her family. It rained the whole time at the Cape, but we still had a great time with Bekah and family. Here's a few pictures from the trip:

Another belated post...work trip to Guatemala and Nicaragua to visit project sites in July. Some pictures from the trip below - not much sightseeing, but a great visit to see the projects including an emergency food distribution program in Guatemala and a school feeding project in Nicaragua:
